It's finally fall - and my favorite time of year. The leaves are changing, the wind is cooler and I can wear sweaters again. Hello, sweaters!
As Tom Hanks said in the movie, You've Got Mail, "Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school
supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I
knew your name and address."
Here is one of my fiance's first gifts to me. We'd been dating a month or so at this point and I mentioned that I loved fall and this movie. He rang my doorbell that weekend and here was something waiting for me. It's a bunch of sharpened pencils with little paper petals that he taped to the pencil tips.
Thankfully, this survived my huge move from one part of NYC to another part of NYC. It's now sitting near my kitchen window, gloating that it's only lost a few petals and witnessed my many, many strange cooking accidents.
To Read: The Family Romanov, by Candace Fleming, from Schwartz & Wade
- It's YA and about the Romanov family, with Anastasia and Rasputin. Strangely, the only thing I know is from the Dreamworks movie. I know. I know.
To Knit: I'm modifying this dishcloth pattern into a tiny little lovebug for a friend in the city. Here it is with the cat.
To Do: My cake topper came in the mail! We have a music-theme for the wedding and I think these are just too cute! You can find them on Etsy.
Have a lovely Fall day!
